Description
The Red House Farmhouse is a house that was formerly a farmhouse, dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century, with alterations in the 18th century and an extension in the 19th century, along with modifications in the 20th century. It is timber-framed with brick infill and has been extended by one bay to the left in brick during the 19th century. The roof is covered with pantiles, featuring brick ridges and lateral stacks, and the building is designed in an L shape.
The farmhouse has two storeys and an attic, with a three-window range. The cross wing, which slightly projects to the right, has a 20th-century window on the ground floor, a two-light casement window on the first floor, and a three-light casement window in the gable above. The range facing the street to the left includes a central 20th-century part-glazed door, a 20th-century window to the ground floor on the left, a three-light casement window to the right on the first floor, and three-light casements on the first floor. The first floor of the bay to the left of the cross wing features square panels, although the rest has been replaced by brick. There are struts to the wall plate. The interior has not been inspected.
