Description

This is a pair of cottages, Yew Tree Cottage and The Cottage (numbers 17 and 19), located on the north side of Main Street in Grimston. They were originally built in the 18th century and altered in the 20th century. The cottages are constructed of red brick, which is painted, with a pantile roof, brick ridge stacks, and brick end stacks. They have one and two-unit plans, and are arranged as a two-storey, three-window range. Doors are positioned to the left and right of the centre, each with a straight hood above. The ground floor features a three-light casement window in the centre, and two-light casements to the left and right, all with segmental-arched heads. The first floor has two-light casements. Single-storey extensions have been added to the left and right, with the left extension set back slightly. The cottage on the left has a lobby entry and 20th-century casement windows. The interior has not been inspected.
