Description
Greenacres Farmhouse, also known as Cox's Farmhouse, is a 17th-century farmhouse that was restored in the late 20th century. The building is rendered over rubble and features a full-height raking buttress on the left end bay, which has a doorway leading through it. The roof is covered with asbestos slate, and there are brick stacks at the gable ends and to the left of the cross passage.
The farmhouse has a plan consisting of three cells and a cross passage, with an outshot at the rear. It is one and a half storeys tall and has a two-to-one bay arrangement. The flat-roofed dormer casements, which are three and two-light, rise from below the eaves, while the ground floor has three and four-light casements. The entrance is located between the first and second bays on the right and features a 20th-century plank door.
On the right side, there is a full-height projection that may be a curing chamber or possibly a stair, which has a tiny surviving lancet window. Additionally, there is a lean-to slate roof covering a bread oven projection, with another small glazed opening situated below the eaves on the right side. The interior has not been seen but is believed to contain a four-panel compartment ceiling.
