Description
No. 22 West Street is a house that likely has a core dating back to the 17th century but was refronted in the late 18th century. The exterior features roughcast from the 20th century, a pantile roof with coped verges, and a parapet that has a moulded coping and a weathered string at its base. There are two brick stacks, one on the ridge to the left and another rising from the parapet on the right. The house is symmetrical, with two storeys and two bays, featuring 12-pane sash windows. Each window has a triangular pediment above it, and the ground floor windows are flanked by external wood shutters decorated with a fleur design. The central door opening is set in a chamfered stone surround and features a six-panelled door, with the top two panels being glazed. Above the door is an open triangular pediment supported by brackets, with a tympanum that includes leaf and scroll decoration.
