Description

No. 30 West Street is a house and shop, now functioning solely as a house, dating from the late 18th century. The building is roughcast with a double Roman tile roof and features an end brick stack and an end pilaster on the left side. It has two storeys and three bays. On the first floor, there are flush mounted 16-pane sash windows. On the ground floor, to the left, there is a similar sash window set in a stone surround, with the jambs extending down to plinth-level. To the right on the ground floor, there is a 28-pane shallow segmental bow window on a brick base. The central door opening has a plain stone surround, which was obscured at the time of the survey by roughcast, and features a 6-panelled door with the top two panels glazed.
