Description

No. 32 West Street is a house dating from the late 18th century. It features roughcast walls that are scribed to resemble ashlar stone, with fluted end pilasters and wide eaves. The ornamental moulded eaves cornice includes plaster rosettes and four-leafed flowers. The roof is covered with double Roman tiles and has two rendered ridge stacks capped with brick. The building is symmetrical, standing two storeys high with three bays. It has 16-pane sash windows with stepped voussoirs, and the window in the center of the first floor is blank. The central door opening contains a six-panelled door set within a stone doorcase, topped by a flat entablature and flanked by two engaged Roman-Doric columns.
