Description

This milestone, dating from around 1775, is made of rough Doulting stone and stands one metre high. It features a cast iron plate on the north side, which is inscribed with the distances to Wells (13 miles) and Frome (2 miles). This milestone is part of the historical Frome Turnpike road to Wells.
