Description

The range of outbuildings attached to the north of Eyewell House was built between 1924 and 1925 by Sir E Guy Dawber. Constructed from local lias stone that is cut and squared, the outbuildings feature plain clay tiled gabled roofs and a stone chimney stack. They form a quadrangle on the north side of the main building and are connected by a matching stone wall topped with three courses of roofing tile as coping, which includes a wooden gate. The detailing generally matches that of Eyewell House, although some walls, particularly those of the stable, are clad with tarred weatherboarding. The outbuildings have small pane casement windows and plain doors, with a gable that includes a segmental arched opening, which is now partially blocked, in the north range. These outbuildings are part of the original design of this 20th-century house and are an essential part of its setting.
