Description
Wales Dairy House is a detached farmhouse, likely dating from the 17th century, that has been modified over time. It is constructed of locally sourced stone that is roughly cut and squared, topped with a double Roman clay tile roof between stepped coped gables and features stone end chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and three bays. It includes chamfered mullioned timber windows with rectangular leaded lights, some of which have later horizontal bar opening lights, all of which are three-light. The lower bay two features a 20th-century open stone and tiled roof porch that protects a boarded door framed in heavy ovolo moulding. There is a small oven-type extension on the north gable, which has a hipped tiled roof. Although the interior has not been seen, reports indicate the presence of a plank and muntin screen, a spiral staircase, chamfered beams, and tie beam trusses with a high collar.
