Description

Lauriston House, with an attached butcher's shop, is a semi-detached house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from local stone coursed rubble, with some stone cut and squared. The roof is made of Welsh slate and features plain gables, along with brick end chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and three bays, with 16-pane sash windows set in voussoired segmental arched openings. The central door is located beneath a pitched timber hood supported by simple brackets.

There is a lower two-storey extension against the west gable, and to the east, there is a single-storey, early 20th-century flat-roofed extension that serves as the butcher's shop. The house occupies a very prominent position on a bend in the High Street.
