Description

This is a late 17th-century house, originally a butcher’s shop, with later additions. The house is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and has a steeply pitched red tile roof with stone-coped gables. It features rendered brick end stacks and follows a two-unit plan, standing as a single storey with an attic. The entrance on the left has a 20th-century door within a wooden frame, sheltered by a gabled hood. This entrance is flanked by bow windows with 19th-century red brick bases. A single gabled half-dormer includes an opening light. Inside, the house features stop-chamfered beams, a winder staircase, and an inglenook fireplace with a chamfered bressumer. There is also a panelled door.

To the right of the house is an attached wall made of limestone rubble. It includes a doorway with a wooden frame, lintel, and plank door. Adjacent to the wall is an 18th-century outbuilding constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a steeply pitched corrugated-iron roof. The right end wall is brick, and it has a stone end stack with a brick cap. It has two two-light wooden casements with chamfered lintels. A semi-circular bread oven projection to the left is roofed with stone slates and has a rear entrance. The outbuilding's interior features an inglenook with a chamfered beam and a bread oven, a stop-chamfered beam, a wide plank door, and a stone and tiled floor.
