Description
The Wilton monument is a chest tomb located about 9 metres east of the chancel at the Church of St. Catherine. This 18th-century tomb is made of Ham stone and has a rectangular shape with semi-circular ends. The base is buried, and it features panels with bolection-moulded trim, one on each side and one on the curved ends, along with a plain frieze. The top is shaped with a moulded coving. The monument commemorates Robert Wilton, although the date of his death is not legible.
