Description

Gates and gatepiers fronting the road at the Old Rectory date from the early 19th century. They are made of red sandstone random rubble and cast iron. The gatepiers are square with flat tops and stepped sides, standing about 2.5 meters tall. The double gates feature spearhead uprights and a frieze of rosettes. It is possible that the gates have been reset, as they are of a much higher quality than the gatepiers. These structures are listed primarily for their group value with the Old Rectory.
