Description
The Old Rectory is a rectory that has been converted into a dwelling. It was rebuilt in 1815, replacing an earlier structure, and was enlarged in the late 19th century. The building is rendered over random rubble and features a hipped slate roof with overhanging eaves and a plastered soffit board, along with brick stacks.
The east front has two storeys and consists of one bay on the left and three bays on the right. It includes 12-pane sash windows, with the left-hand bay on the right side projecting forward and featuring a 2-light casement with glazing bars and a French window below. The entrance is located on the right return and has a three-bay facade with an internal porch and glazed double doors.
On the left return, there is a long two-bay facade. The first floor has a casement window with a blind box and a blocked window, while below it, there is a French window with a blind box and an 18-pane sash window to the left. The latter was originally the stair light but was removed when the angle between the service wing and the dwelling on the west front was filled in during the late 19th century. This area was likely previously occupied by a conservatory.
