Description
The wall enclosing the garden and incorporating a stable block is located immediately north of Woodlands House. It dates from the late 18th century and features a stable with a hipped slate roof and a single-storey, three-bay facade. The wall is constructed of red sandstone random rubble with brick piers, standing about 2.5 metres high and sweeping up at the west end, topped with pantile coping. The structure has a rectangular plan that curves at the north end to form a farm ovolo-shaped bay with curved wings and piers at the corners. There are segmental-headed doorcases in the inner bays, with the west side blocked. A central rectangular recess, now empty, likely originally housed a greenhouse. Additionally, there are segmental-headed doorways at the west and southeast corners.
