Description
The Knight's family monument is a headstone located in the churchyard, approximately 5 meters south of the porch of the Church of St Aldhelm and St Eadburgha. This monument dates back to the 17th century and is made of ham stone. It stands about 900 millimeters high and features a depressed trefoil head, adorned with winged angels' heads in semi-circles that flank an unidentified object, which may be a flaming heart with crossed palm leaves. The stone is inscribed in fine lettering, commemorating the two wives of Thomas Haye, although their names are not legible. One of the wives is noted to have died in 1696.
