Description

The Knight family memorial, located approximately 2 metres to the south-west of the porch of the Church of St Martin, is a monumental gravestone dating from the 18th century. It is made of ashlar limestone and features a pedestal topped by a short obelisk. The memorial includes a moulded plinth and cornice, which bear weathered inscriptions dedicated to the Knight family. The upswept top surface of the cornice is adorned with winged cherubs on two sides. The obelisk has a square base with a vase carved within a panel, although the top of the obelisk is broken off.
