Description
This is a semi-detached cottage, likely built in the 18th century, located on Back Lane in Bower Hinton. The cottage is constructed from roughly cut and squared Ham stone and features a Welsh slate roof with stepped coped gables set high to the north, replacing the original thatch. There is a brick chimney stack at the end. The building has two storeys and consists of two bays. It has plain mullioned windows with three lights, which have slightly chamfered surrounds and horizontal-bar inserts. Between the bays, there is a chamfered three-centre arch that holds an early 20th-century part-glazed door, accessed by six steps. There is a single-storey extension on the north gable that matches the main structure, featuring two two-light casements under timber lintels, as well as a further lean-to against this extension, which has a boarded end gable. The interior has not been seen.
