Description

Roseleigh is a detached farmhouse located at No. 171, Back Lane in Bower Hinton. It likely dates from the 17th century and has undergone some modifications. The building is constructed from cut and squared ham stone on a rubble base, with ashlar dressings. It features a double Roman clay tile roof with plain gables and has brick chimney stacks at both ends and in the middle.

The farmhouse is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with the third bay being much wider and built differently from the others. The first and second bays have had their roofs raised. The windows are hollow-chamfered mullioned types, with three lights above and two, four, and three lights below. The lower bays two and three have square labels above the windows. All windows are plain glazed and include central iron-framed opening lights. To the left of bay three, there is a wide boarded door set in a plain opening, and a covered way is present against the north gable. The interior has not been seen.
