Description
The Cottage is a house and outbuilding dating from the early 19th century, with a 20th-century extension. It is constructed of coursed dressed limestone, with rubble on the gable ends, and features a pantile roof and brick stacks. The building has a central staircase plan and is 1½ rooms deep, later extended into an attached outbuilding. It is two stories tall with a two-window front, accompanied by a single-storey outbuilding.
On the street front, there is a central four-panel door beneath a rectangular divided fanlight. To the left, there is a 16-pane sash window, and on the first floor, there are two similar windows. All openings are topped with heavy lintels, and there are end stacks. The garden front mirrors the street front but has two 16-pane sash windows on the ground floor.
