Description
The Green is a house that includes an attached stable block, now also used as part of the house. It was built in the mid to late 18th century, with a 19th-century extension. The building is made of dressed limestone with sandstone quoins, sitting on a stone plinth, and has a roof covered with concrete pantiles.
The layout features a central stairhall plan, with the house extending into the former stable buildings on the left side. The front of the house is two stories high and has four windows. A six-panel door, located to the right of the center, is accessed by steps and has a blocked rectangular fanlight above it, framed by a pilastered doorcase with a flat hood. There is a former carriage entrance on the left end that has been converted into a garage door.
The lower windows are canted bays with sash windows that include glazing bars, with one bay to the right of the main door and two to the left. The upper windows are 16-pane sashes with stone sills, set beneath heavy, milled lintels. The building features stacks at both ends and in the center.
