Description
No. 5 is a house built in the late 18th century or early 19th century, constructed of orange-red brick in Flemish bond with a slate roof and brick stacks, one of which has been rebuilt. The building stands three stories tall with a basement and features a two-window front. There is a flight of steps leading up to a recessed six-panel door, which has panelled reveals and is topped by a fanlight with radial glazing. The entrance is adorned with an open pediment supported by brackets. To the left, there is a three-story canted bay with 12-pane sash windows on the ground and first floors, and unequal 9-pane sash windows on the second floor. The windows above the doorway are similar and set under gauged brick arches. The house has a moulded timber eaves cornice and end stacks on a shallow-pitched roof. Additionally, there are late 18th-century or early 19th-century cast-iron railings at the front, which ramp up along the entrance steps.
