Description
Pond Race Cottage is a house with an attached outbuilding, now functioning as a house, dating from the late 18th century with a later extension. The front and sides are made of coursed dressed sandstone, while the rear is constructed of rubble. It has a pantile roof and brick stacks. The building has a 2-cell, direct entry plan, with the later extension to the right. It is 1½ stories high and features a two-window front. The central entrance consists of a 4-panel door, flanked by three-light, small-pane, horizontal sliding sash windows with louvred shutters. The upper floor has two-light horizontal sliding sash windows. All openings are topped with thin timber lintels. The cottage has a coped gable and shaped kneelers, with end stacks. On the left gable wall, there is an 8-pane sash replacement window set in a moulded architrave beneath a long timber lintel.
