Description
Rose Cottage is an early 19th-century house located on the west side of High Street in Nawton. It is constructed from coursed squared limestone and features a pantile roof with a brick stack. The house has a single-cell, gable-entry plan, with a service outshut to the right. It is two stories tall with an attic and has a single window front. The entrance includes a four-panel door with a rectangular fanlight, situated under a bracketed porch. To the left of the door, there is a 12-pane sash window and an enlarged fire window. On the first floor, there is another 12-pane sash window, and in the attic, there is a two-light, large pane sliding sash window. All the windows are topped with flat, keyed lintels. The gable features a coped top and a shaped kneeler, with a stack located at the gable end.
