Description
Prospect House is a house built in the late 18th century, with a later addition. It features coursed squared limestone on the front, a brick extension at the rear, and a pantile roof with brick stacks. The house has a central stairhall plan, is one and a half rooms deep, and includes a rear service wing. The front is symmetrical with two stories and three windows. The central entrance has a six-panel door beneath a divided rectangular fanlight. All windows are two-light, small pane, horizontal sliding sashes with stone sills, and all openings are topped with heavy, milled lintels. The gables are coped, and there are shaped kneelers and end stacks. Inside, there is a closed string staircase with stick balusters, a moulded handrail that ramps up to the landings, and octagonal newel posts.
