Description
Rose Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century, with later alterations and an extension. It is constructed of squared sandstone and features a pantile roof along with a part brick stack. The building has a two-cell, end passage plan and a continuous outshut has been added. It is two storeys high with a two-window front. The entrance consists of a 20th-century board door beneath a divided overlight, with two 16-pane sash windows to the left. The first floor has two-light, 12-pane horizontal-sliding sashes, all of which have painted stone sills. The ground-floor openings have painted lintels, and the windows are fitted with 20th-century louvred shutters. The cottage features a stepped eaves course, coped gables with shaped kneelers, and a central stack.
