Description
No 5 Church Lane is a house dating from the late 18th century, likely with earlier origins, that has undergone later alterations and extensions. It is constructed of coursed rubble sandstone with a brick outshut, topped with a pantile roof and featuring brick stacks. The house has a central-entry plan and stands two storeys high with a three-window front. The central door is accompanied by an overlight and flanked by two-light, 18-pane horizontal sliding sashes with painted stone sills. Above the door is a 12-pane sash, and there are unequal two-light, 15-pane horizontal sliding sashes on either side. All openings, except for the sash, have painted tripartite keyed lintels. The right gable is coped and has a shaped kneeler, and there are end stacks.
