Description
No. 4 Hungate is a house dating from the late 18th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of squared sandstone and features a pantile roof with brick stacks. The building is two stories high and has a two-window front, with a one-and-a-half-story section to the right. The entrance to the one-and-a-half-story section is a part-glazed door from the 20th century, accompanied by a small-pane top-opening light to the right. The two-story front has two-light, 12-pane horizontal-sliding sash windows, which have painted stone sills. The ground floor windows are topped with painted tooled wedge lintels, while the first floor features thinner stone lintels. There is a brick stack at the end of the right side of the two-story front. This building is included for its group value with other nearby structures.
