Description

No. 2 Hungate is a late 18th-century building that was originally two cottages but is now a single house. It features squared sandstone construction and a pantile roof with a brick chimney stack. The house has two low storeys and a two-window front. The ground floor includes a modern board door situated between two-light, 12-pane horizontal sliding sash windows. There is an original second door on the right that has been blocked, leaving a small shuttered opening with a thin timber lintel. The first floor has two-light horizontal sliding sash windows, all with painted stone sills and painted tooled wedge lintels above the ground-floor openings. The building has a chimney stack on the left end.
