Description
Brookfield is a house dating from the late 18th century, with later alterations and an extension. It is constructed of dressed sandstone, with some areas featuring herringbone tooling. The left gable is partly rendered, and the roof is covered with pantiles, supported by rebuilt brick stacks. The building has a two-cell direct-entry plan and an added outshut. It is a single-storey structure with an attic and a three-bay front. The entrance features an off-centre 20th-century four-panel door, flanked by later inserted four-pane sash windows with stone sills, all topped with flat arches. There is a single raking dormer in the attic, which contains a two-light, large-pane horizontal sliding sash window. The house has end stacks.
