Description
Rorty Crankle is a house dating from the late 18th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of squared sandstone and features a pantile roof with brick stacks. The building has a three-cell, hearth-passage plan and a rear wing on the left side. It stands two storeys tall with an attic. The entrance is a 20th-century six-panel door located to the centre left, accompanied by a 16-pane sash window to the right. There are 12-pane sash windows at both the left and right ends of the house. On the first floor, there are three 12-pane sashes, and the attic includes three inserted flat-topped dormers. All windows have painted stone sills. The door and the openings to the left have thin timber lintels, while the openings to the right feature renewed, rendered lintels. The eaves cornice is cavetto moulded, and the gables are coped with shaped kneelers. There are stacks at the left end and left of centre.
