Description
Roxby House is an early 19th-century house located on Maltongate in Thornton Dale. It features dressed sandstone on a plinth with painted raised quoins, a timber eaves cornice, and a pantile roof with brick stacks. The house has a central stairhall plan and is one room deep, presenting a symmetrical two-storey front with three windows. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door flanked by three small lights and an overlight. Throughout the building, there are four-pane sash windows with painted stone sills, and all openings are topped with triple keyed wedge lintels. The eaves are moulded, and there are three inserted roof lights. The right gable is coped with a shaped kneeler, and there are stacks at both ends.
