Description

Roxby Cottage is an early 19th-century house located on Maltongate in Thornton Dale. It is constructed of dressed sandstone on a plinth, featuring a timber eaves cornice and a pantile roof with brick stacks. The building is two stories high with a two-window front. The entrance consists of a four-panel door with an overlight, and to the left, there is a 16-pane sash window with a painted stone sill. Above this, there is a similar window, while a second window to the right has been blocked. All openings have triple keyed wedge lintels, and there is a moulded eaves course. The house has a stack at the left end.
