Description
The Grange is a house located on the south side of High Street in Thornton Dale, dating from the late 18th century and altered in the 20th century. The front is made of bordered herringbone-tooled sandstone, while the sides are constructed from squared sandstone. It features a pantile roof and rendered stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a four-window front. There is a four-panel door left of centre, with one four-pane sash window to the left and two to the right, along with four similar windows on the first floor. The attic contains four gabled dormers. All openings on the left have chiselled wedge lintels, while those on the right have flat arches. The gables are coped, and there is a shaped kneeler to the left. The stacks are located at the end and right of centre.
