Description
Ivy House and the attached outbuilding are a house and outbuilding dating from the early 19th century, with later alterations. The building features dressed sandstone on a plinth and coursed sandstone rubble on the sides, topped with a slate roof and brick stacks. The house has a central stairhall plan, is one and a half rooms deep, and has an attached outbuilding to the right. It is two stories high with a symmetrical three-window front, while the outbuilding is a single storey with two bays. The house has a central four-panel door with an overlight, and the outbuilding has a board door to the left of a six-pane fixed-light window. The house windows are 12-pane sashes with painted stone sills, and all openings in the house have heavy painted, grooved lintels, while the outbuilding features timber lintels. There are end stacks on the building.
