Description

Nos 47 and 49 on Piercy End is a house and attached outbuilding, now functioning as a house and shop. It dates from the late 18th century and has undergone later alterations. The front is made of coursed sandstone, while the right gable wall is rendered stone. The building features a pantile roof and brick stacks. It is 1½ stories tall with a three-window front. The house on the left has a four-panel central door, flanked by two-light small horizontal sliding sashes. The shop on the right has a 20th-century half-glazed door with a shop window to the right, framed by a panelled pilaster and cornice. A shaped colonette divides the window. On the first floor, there are three two-light small pane horizontal sliding sashes. All ground floor openings, except for the shop window, have heavy, plain lintels. There are two stacks at the ends and one right of centre.
