Description
19 Castlegate is a building with probable origins in the 17th century. It consists of two sections constructed from coursed stone, topped with a steep pantile roof and painted white. The left section is one storey high, featuring a blocked door to the left, one modern casement window with four lights, and a plain door. There is also a mounting block. The right section is taller, also one storey, and includes two modern dormers. It has two brick stacks and three windows, two of which are three-light windows with wood lintels. The taller section to the right is slightly later and has one brick stack, along with modern wood garage doors.
The buildings numbered 8 to 19, along with 14A, create a visual group with the Friends' Meeting House, with number 8 being of local interest.
