Description

No. 9 Castlegate is a building from the early 19th century, likely with earlier origins. It features a pantile roof and is constructed of coursed stone. The building has two semi-dormer windows with two lights that break the eaves, although these are modern additions. On the ground floor, there is one window with three lights, featuring modern hung sashes without glazing bars, and a stone lintel above. The plain door also has a stone lintel.

No. 9, along with Nos. 8 to 19 and 14A, forms a visual group with the Friends' Meeting House, with No. 8 being of local interest.
