Description

12 and 13 Castlegate are early 19th-century buildings that stand two stories tall. They are constructed from painted coursed stone, with a rendered ground floor and a pantile roof featuring brick stacks. The facade includes four windows, two of which are blocked, and has flat lintels with incised keystones. On the ground floor, there are two hung sash windows with glazing bars. The entrance features two doors with six fielded panels, and both doors have blocked fanlights above them. These buildings, along with Nos 8 to 19 and 14A, create a visual group with the nearby Friends' Meeting House, with No 8 being of local interest.
