Description

No. 11 Castlegate is an early 19th-century building, likely with earlier origins. It is two storeys high, constructed from coursed stone, and features a pantile roof. The front has three windows on the upper floor, which are sliding sashes without glazing bars. The ground floor also has three windows, with painted lintels that have incised keystones, and these windows are similarly sliding sashes without glazing bars. The entrance door consists of four panels and is set within a doorway that has plain pilasters and a cornice. This building, along with Nos. 8 to 19 and 14A, forms a visual group with the Friends' Meeting House, with No. 8 being of local interest.
