Description

Number 10 Castlegate is an early 19th-century building, likely with earlier origins. It is constructed of coursed stone with a pantile roof. The building has two storeys and a single window of three lights on each floor. The windows have modern glazing, and the ground-floor window is topped with a stone lintel. A stone lintel also frames the door, which is made of six panels, two of which are glazed. Numbers 8 to 19 (consecutive) and 14A form a visual group with the nearby Friends’ Meeting House, with Number 8 holding local interest.
