Description

No 16 Castlegate is a cottage dating from the 17th century or early 18th century. It is built of coursed stone and has a pantile roof with a coped stone gable end featuring a kneeler on the left side. There is a brick stack. The cottage has three modern windows, and the ground floor includes two large modern windows with modern lintels. Above the modern door is a stone lintel. This building is part of a visual group with Nos 8 to 19 and 14A, alongside the Friends' Meeting House, with No 8 being of local interest.
