Description

52 Hungate is a building from the early to mid-19th century, consisting of two sections that are two storeys high and constructed from coursed stone. The left section features two windows with stone voussoirs, while the right section has one window with flat stone voussoirs and no glazing bars. The roof is made of pantiles and has two chimneys, one made of red brick and the other of yellow brick. The ground floor has a modern shop front. The gable end includes two windows with stone lintels on the top floor and one canted bay window on the ground floor, situated above the modern shop front. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 29 to 31, Pickering United Reformed Church, railings and gates in the courtyard, and Nos 33 to 47 and Nos 49 to 52.
