Description

Rose Cottage is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century, featuring a 20th-century porch. It is constructed of chiselled sandstone with a pantile roof and brick stacks. The building has a lobby-entry plan and is one and a half rooms deep. It stands two stories tall with a two-window front and a single-storey projecting porch. The entrance consists of a six-panel door beneath a divided overlight, all set within a gabled porch. The windows are 16-pane sashes with flat arches and painted stone sills throughout the property. There is a stepped eaves course and end stacks. Inside, the original enclosed stairs are located at the rear of the left room, and there are plank doors throughout the ground floor.
