Description
Derwent Bank is a house located on Village Street in Low Hutton, dating from the early to mid-19th century, with 20th-century alterations and an extension. The building is constructed of chiselled sandstone, featuring sandstone ashlar dressings, and has a slate roof with brick stacks. It has a central-stairhall plan that is one and a half rooms deep, with a rear extension added. The front features a central panelled door with an overlight, set within a rusticated door-case that has a cornice. The house has 12-pane sash windows throughout, with stone sills and flat arches that include triple keystones on the ground floor. The first-floor windows also have flat arches and a raised sill band. End stacks rise through the hipped roof.
