Description

The suspension bridge across the River Derwent in Low Hutton is a footbridge built in the late 19th century. It features cast-iron railway metals and steel cables, with brick piers topped by stone caps. The bridge is a single-span suspension structure, where the piers support A-frame pylons that are connected at each end by round arches. The cables hold up the walkway, which is equipped with a handrail.
