Description
No. 87 Main Street is a house built in 1731, as indicated by the datestone above the door. The building features coursed sandstone walls and a pantile roof, with brick stacks. It has a three-cell, hearth-passage plan and is two stories high with a four-bay front. The bay to the right of the center projects forward and contains a 20th-century door with a 16-pane sash window above it. The end bay to the right also has a 16-pane sash window. The remaining windows are tripartite sashes with glazing bars. All openings have flat arches made of vertical sets, with the entrance bay featuring keystones. The house has a coved eaves course, coped gables, and plain kneelers, with stacks located at the ends and to the right of the center.
