Description

This is an early to mid-18th century house located on Main Street in Cayton, raised and altered at a later date. The house is constructed of coursed rubble sandstone, with a raised brick section, and has a pantile roof and brick stacks. It follows a central stairhall plan, with one room’s depth. The front of the house has two storeys and two windows. A central boarded door is flanked by two two-light, horizontal sliding sash windows, all with timber lintels. The first floor has similar sash windows with segmental brick arches. A coped gable and kneeler are visible to the left. There are end stacks. The building is included on the register for group value.
