Description
No. 24 Fairfield Road is a house built in 1813. The building features a ground floor made of coursed, squared rubble, with rendered upper sections, limestone ashlar, brick stacks, and a pantile roof. It has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys tall with a basement, presenting a one-window range on the main facade. The central entrance has a semicircular-arched doorway with a key and imposts, topped by a batswing fanlight and a six-panel door. Above the door is a tall arched stair window with a 16/16-pane sash window and an interlaced head. The main elevation at the rear has a three-window range of sash windows with glazing bars, and to the right, there is a late 19th-century two-storey square bay window. Inside, the house features a fine curved open-well stair and panelled shutters.
