Description
Gadara Cottage is a house built around 1820, located on Cobourg Road in Montpelier, Bristol. The building features a stucco exterior with limestone ashlar dressings, brick end stacks, and a pantile valley roof. It has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high with a two-window range. Architectural details include pilasters, a cornice, a parapet, and a coped gable. The central door is framed by a late 19th-century porch, and the windows are 6/6-pane sashes with margin bars.
Inside, there is a central hall and a rear central dogleg stair with stick balusters. The property also includes subsidiary features such as a brick outbuilding to the northeast, which has a segmental-arched doorway beneath an oculus and a sloping roof. Additionally, there is a garden wall to the northwest that features a pointed-arched doorway.
